Is it possible to highlight blank cells or cells with errors using conditional formatting?

Yes, absolutely! Highlighting blank cells and cells with errors is a very common use case for conditional formatting in Excel. Here's how to achieve it:

Highlighting Blank Cells:

1. Select the range of cells you want to check for blank values.
2. Go to the "Home" tab on the Excel ribbon.
3. In the "Styles" group, click the dropdown arrow next to "Conditional Formatting."
4. A menu will appear. Choose "New Rule."
5. In the "New Formatting Rule" window, under "Select a rule type," choose "Format only cells that contain."
6. From the dropdown menu below, select "Blanks."
7. Click the "Format" button to choose how you want to highlight blank cells. You can change the fill color, font color, or apply borders for easy identification.
8. Click "OK" on the "Format Cells" window.
9. Click "OK" again on the "New Formatting Rule" window.

Highlighting Cells with Errors:

1. Follow steps 1-4 from the "Highlighting Blank Cells" section.
2. Under "Select a rule type," choose "Format only cells that contain" again.
3. This time, select "Errors" from the dropdown menu.
4. Proceed with steps 7-9 from the "Highlighting Blank Cells" section to choose your desired formatting for error cells.

Now, any blank cells or cells containing errors within your selected range will be visually distinct, making them easier to spot and address in your spreadsheet.
