How to copy and paste a chart into another document?
Here's how to copy and paste a chart into another document, depending on the destination program:
Copying to Another Excel Worksheet:
1. Select the chart: Click on the chart you want to copy.
2. Copy the chart: There are three ways to do this:
- Press `Ctrl` + `C` on your keyboard.
- Right-click the chart and select "Copy."
- Click the "Home" tab and then the "Copy" button in the "Clipboard" group.
3. Navigate to the destination worksheet: Click on the worksheet tab where you want to paste the chart.
4. Paste the chart: There are two ways to do this:
- Press `Ctrl` + `V` on your keyboard.
- Right-click on the desired location and choose "Paste."
Copying to Another Office Program (Word, PowerPoint):
1. Follow steps 1 and 2 above to select and copy the chart.
2. Open the destination document (Word or PowerPoint).
3. Click on the location where you want to insert the chart.
4. Paste with options: Right-click and choose one of the following paste options:
- Use Destination Theme: Pastes the chart using the formatting of the destination document.
- Keep Source Formatting: Pastes the chart with its original formatting from Excel.
- Picture: Pastes the chart as a static image that cannot be edited within the destination program.
Additional Notes:
* You can also use the "Paste Special" option (right-click after pasting) to choose from various picture formats for pasting the chart.
* When copying a chart to another program, it's generally recommended to use "Keep Source Formatting" to maintain the chart's original appearance.
